masak oh HAI 14:00
zarah hi masak
moritz_ wonders if rakudo will be pretty usable once the lex branch is merged 14:01
PerlJam Are you saying that rakudo isn't "pretty usable" now? ;) 14:02
moritz_ PerlJam: exactly
masak PerlJam: in a way, I'd tend to agree 14:03
the lex thingy is devastating, actually
PerlJam Me too, but you've built a november from this thing, so it has some use
masak PerlJam: you should see the things we could've done if the lex thing were fixed :P
moritz_ that's "ugly usable", not "pretty usable" ;-)
PerlJam rakudo is similar to perl 4 in this regard I guess
moritz++
masak PerlJam: you could do recursion in Perl 4. 14:05
PerlJam you can do recursion in rakudo too :)
masak not the cool kind.
PerlJam Looking at november recently, all of the things I find interesting to work on are changes to rakudo. This is probably a good thing along one axis, but definitely a bad thing along another. 14:08
masak PerlJam: definitely a good thing from my perspective.
PerlJam: anything special you have in mind? 14:19
(if not, I might have a few suggestions)
masak missed @array.splice the other day
PerlJam suggest away, I haven't really decided what I'm going to work on other than I started on a NCI for sqlite because I wanted to refamiliarize myself with NCI 14:20
masak I think there shouldn't be anything blocking @array.splice
a slightly harder thing to do would be array slices :) 14:27
I think that's something that jonathan will have to do
