masak lichtkind: fwiw, viklund hasn't replied to my email. 19:07
hm, Druid's bin/web-druid has bitrotted... 19:08
lichtkind masak: thatswhy i came here :)
masak I guessed as much.
Tene masak: speaking of Web.pm grant, what should I be working on for that? 19:10
masak Tene: Hitomi, I think. did you read my latest summary?
Tene I don't remember. Was Hitomi actually part of the grant? 19:11
masak yes, I think so.
at least proving it can work is.
masak checks
Tene reading and parsing html has never seemed very well related to producing html, to me. 19:12
Hitomi is the html transforming thing, right?
masak xhtml, really, but yes.
Tene OK
masak seems it's indeed part of the grant. we've promised to create one slightly dumber templating engine, and Hitomi. 19:13
'A slightly more advanced XML-aware templating system, similar to Python's Genshi.'
that's from the grant application.
(under 'Deliverables')
I also hope to be able to move November on top of Hitomi, once it's faster than our HTML::Template. 19:14
and I'm pretty sure it will be, once we create the part that compiles templates down to PIR. 19:16
Tene Which relies on the inter-HLL stuff I'm supposedly working on now. :)
masak yay!
Tene++ 19:17
Tene: I'll spend some time writing tests for the functionality I'm envisioning. basically the standard templating loops, conditionals and value substitutions.
after that, I'll start working on the pure-Perl6 version of Hitomi.
and you can guide me through creating a HLL for the PIR-compiling version. 19:18
I want to do the above, flesh out Web::Request and Web::Response a bit, and then I'll more or less consider my part of the grant finished. 19:19
after that, I'll focus on discussing with ihrd as he finishes his part. 19:20

Tene yeah, I'd love to coordinate with jhorwitz. He fixed some mod_parrot bugs for me recently, but i ran out of steam before getting mod_perl6 working.
masak we should definitely coordinate with jhorwitz. 21:06
the nice thing about porting Rack is that most people are happy from the get-do. 21:07
s/do/go/
it's a framework that demands little, and offers quite a lot.
