masak I've decided to do MVC today. 12:50
I'm looking at Camping, and liking its simplicity.
however, I'm not sure I want to reinvent ActiveRecord.
for now, I need something very simple. it'll probably have to be a database backend relying on files. 12:51

Tene masak: pong 17:09
masak Tene: oh hai. I'm leaving now, but here's a short summary of what I'm currently up to: 17:11
I'm building some kind of ORM layer. taking a leaf from ActiveRecord, but not building a 100% solution, just something that I can use to stand on. also, I have neither macros nor metaclass manipulation in Rakudo, so it's a bit more bare-bones. but it's something. 17:12
I'm interested in plugging in a real database, not just files.
but I don't have the know-how, and I can't get the examples in Parrot working.
so I'd like some help. at some point.
Tene masak: so your request is "databases in rakudo plz"? 17:15
masak Tene: in my understanding, there are already examples of that in examples/nci/ 17:16
but yes. that is essentially my request.
Tene Okay, I can do that.
masak excellent.
for my purposes, file backend is fine. but it'd be a nice part of the grant to have a database backend working to some degree.
Tene traveling today, which can be either good or bad for my productivity.
masak :)
Tene sqlite good? 17:17
mysql?
postgresql?
masak either.
Tene memcached?
masak whatever you get working.
Tene couchdb?
umm... loldb?
masak :P
Tene dammit, I ran out of databases.

I'm currently mussing over whether I can hijack jnthn's latest traits features to do the work of macros.

I think I'll have to ponder that over dinner. 17:19
see you around.
