masak hi :) 13:15
eiro hello ;)
i'm back from FPW2010 and there are some discutions about porting dancer to perl6 13:16
masak ok -- cool!
eiro it will be redundant with Astaire
so i told them i'll ask you
masak Astaire hasn't gotten very far. if Dancer gets a Perl 6 port which gets further, I'll favour Dancer, and ask others to do the same. 13:17
eiro can Astaire/Web.pm be a base to a perl6 dancer ?
ok
and about the Web.pm code ? is there some stuff to steal ? 13:18
s/steal/contribute/
masak I'd hope that Web.pm core is stable enough to serve as a basis for any Dancer-like project. 13:19
but that's up to you to decide.
is Dancer in Perl 5 based on something like Rack?
Plack, isn't it?
eiro yep
masak Web.pm is based on Rack, just like Plack is. 13:20
so there should be plenty of commonality.
eiro right... that's why i told to myself. I see 2 approaches:
- porting plack in perl6 ( plack is awesome ) 13:21
- start from Web.pm and hack
masak wow. if you can get people on this, it'd be great. 13:25
I'm not a stickler for continuity, but of course I'd hope that the code already written could be re-used in some way. 13:26
I can also accept a name change. if it makes sense to rename Web.pm insto Plack, we'll do that :)
eiro :) 13:29
ok. I'll post about it on dancer list
masak cool. 13:40
I'll subscribe to the dancer list.
eiro masak, if you do it now: ill post in the evening 13:41
masak excellent. 13:42
eiro cool :)
masak, you can also join the #dancer channel :) 13:49
