I'm getting backtraces on some generated PIR code where the line numbers are off by hundreds

Yes, that can be quite irritating.
tcurtis whiteknight, jnthn: I've yet to see a useful line number in run-time errors, but they have seemed to work in compile-time errors.
jnthn tcurtis: I see useful ones in Rakudo but that's 'cus we use .annotate ;-)
I do have to wonder if the backtrace code remembers to go looking for the correct debug info segment as it walks the stack. 21:29
