cotto kid51: is there any limitation on who can run an election for the PaFo board? 01:16
hio whiteknight
kid51 cotto: No, I don't believe there is. In 2010, particle chaired but smash served as Elections Secretary or something. The By-laws are on the web site and they define the rules. 01:23

cotto kid51: ok. That sounds like what I need to know. My reading of the bylaws gave me the same impression. 01:42
benabik Wow. We have bylaws. 01:52

moritz where can I find instructions on how to view the output of the subprof runcore? 07:44
cotto moritz, if it's not documented, talk to mls 07:49
I don't know if there is any documentation 07:50
seen mls 07:51
aloha mls was last seen in #parrot 12 days 18 hours ago saying "(this will slow down parrot quite a bit, so it's only for debugging purposes)".
moritz ah, it seems that kcachegrind understands the output 07:55

cotto alvis: pong 23:18
alvis cotto: there's a problem with 'parrot.github.com'; it's too big now and won't rebuild ...
i thought i'd pull out some of the older docs; is that ok with you? 23:19
cotto alvis: that's an unusual problem. It's highly likely we can delete some stuff without losing anything important, so go ahead. 23:20
what do you mean "won't rebuild"?
it makes github sad?
alvis cotto: it takes too long to rebuild and so the server times out ... 23:21
the github folks are saying they can't rebuild it either because it times out.
for example, i can't get it to refresh the 'index.html' page becaue it won't rebuild. 23:22
s/becaue/because/ 23:23
cotto alvis: ok. This makes me curious about what we've got in there.
alvis cotto: it's *all* of the documents from 3.11.0-devel to 0.2.0 23:24
cotto oh
that makes it a bit less surprising
alvis cotto: dukeleto wanted everything, but i don't think we can get 'em all in.
cotto: right.
cotto I'm happy having the historical stuff on docs.parrot.org 23:25
and updated per-release
and only having the most recent version on github
alvis cotto: so, say, from 1.0.0? what do you think? 23:26
cotto It's your call. I don't see a point in having any of the historical (i.e. not the most recent) docs on github. 23:27
alvis cotto: ok. i's just followin' what dukeleto said he wanted. i'll limit it to 3.0.0 and close the ticket ... 23:28
besides, folks can pull the tags if they really want 'em.
cotto alvis: which ticket? 23:30
alvis cotto: #2 on github.com/parrot/parrot.github.co...state=open 23:31
cotto alvis: thanks
alvis: I think you're misinterpreting what dukeleto wants. 23:32
He just wants a page that links to each version of the docs, not necessarily every of the docs on github.
alvis cotto: hmm, possible, but i don't think so. i've followed up with him a'bit since that ticket.
cotto It'd be helpful if that discussion were part of the issue. 23:33
(for future reference)
23:34 kid51 joined
alvis cotto: ok. 23:34
cotto: not to be a pita, but ... doesn't "a page that links to each version of the docs" imply access to those docs on github... 23:36
cotto alvis: you're *very* far from being a pita 23:37
alvis so, if you go to 'parrot.github.com' and click on the 'Parrot Documentation Releases (3.8.0 - 0.2.0)" link ...
it takes go to a page of links to the docs?
cotto alvis: I don't read it that way, but language is imperfect at serializing thoughts
alvis cotto: agreed. :(
cotto let me add my $.02 to the ticket 23:38
alvis cotto: 'k
cotto github++ for tab completion in the issue edit box 23:39
it even lists "@leto" as a completion for "@du" 23:41
cotto hopes that dukeleto's new gig won't interfere with his parrot hacking 23:42
alvis me too!
cotto: in the interim, 'parrot.github.com' won't rebuild. so, how 'bout i pull it back to 3.10.0 - 3.0.0 and wait for further direction? 23:43
cotto alvis: yeah. get yourself unblocked and we can make everyone happy later
alvis cotto: sounds good and thanks!
cotto this is one of those nice problems whose solution can be easily reversed 23:44
alvis :)
cotto alvis: what's your dayjob? 23:55
alvis cotto: a'bit of consultant work; mostly with the local university. 23:58
cotto: a few, other clients as well; mostly financial guys; and coupl'a lawyers. 23:59
