Qioa Hello all! I am working on parrot VM and i am a beginner at the moment. Does anyone know how to unistall it ? Because I want to install it again due to some mistakes - misconfigurations I did 22:46
kid51 Qioa: I'm glad to see that Parrot is still attracting beginners! :-) 22:54
How did you install it? 22:55
Qioa by following the instructions on the webpage ! here : docs.parrot.org/parrot/latest/html/...d.pod.html 23:00
:-) 23:01
just make install 23:03
kid51 Now, I have to confess that, in all the years I worked on Parrot, I never once actually installed it!
And I have no idea whether the instructions on that page are still valid. Parrot has not been under heavy development in recent years, so the docs may be out of date. 23:05
But, let me at least ask ...
What errors do you think you committed?
Qioa Thank you very much ! :-)
kid51 Or, what do you wish you would have done? 23:06
From what I can tell by reading the INSTRUCTIONS section in README.pod, if you want to install Parrot in the same location but in a different configuration, you should only need to call 'perl Configure.pl' again with different options, then make, make test, make install. 23:13
If you want to install it in a different location ... well, that may be more difficult. 23:15
In the sense that many applications which one builds from source code do not come with a 'make uninstall' target -- and Parrot is no different there. 23:16
Also, see stackoverflow.com/questions/1439950...ary-in-lin 23:21
Qioa Thank you so much for the answers and for your time! and sorry for not answering fast i am also searching stackoverflow :-) 23:23
hmm okay i understand then probably i am goin to try that out and if it doesn't work i am goin to format ! [the drive i am using is only for that- testing] 23:24
kid51 Also please feel free to post questions to the parrot-users mailing list. Instructions for that are in README.pod 23:27
Qioa Okay great :-) again thanks a lot ! 23:28
cya arround :-) 23:29
