DONE:
* fixed together with Chirag the last WB bug, added one more pmc2c improvement, but
I've still got 8 wrong warnings on Error: Missing manual_wb GC write barrier to Object.*
* found together with Chirag several more WB optimizations possibilities, we are at
2.5% better currently. could get better.
* added pmc and pmc2c docs, needs a 3rd eye
* tested and benched rakudo ok
* gsoc branch looks mergable for the next 6.5.0 release (till saturday).
will do tomorrow
TODO:
* maybe find a few more WB optimizations
* check dynpmc's, so far all looked good
BLOCKS:
* none
Util Hello! Who all is in attendance? 19:31
Chirag Me

* Same as rurban

* Weekly Report
rurban_ Ah, yes the weekly report should be done now. We are looking good now. (Better than other GSOC projects so far:) 19:34
Chirag :)
rurban_ But I did not only mentoring, more like a co-worker. I did the hairy and Chirag the heavy stuff 19:35
Chirag is also still pretty green with git, but it's getting better. 19:36
Next week after the release I'll go on holidays until YAPC 19:37
Chirag I agree. Understanding Parrot's working has been a bigger challenge than making contributions.. :)
Util Division by hairy-vs-heavy might not be the usual for GSoC projects, but I understand how it is needed for this one.

rurban_ Util: could you look at the 3 docs: changelog, pmc.pod and pmc2c.pod at github.com/parrot/parrot/commits/r...ig2-gh1069 19:38
I'll probably also write a mail to parrot-dev for the new features and the docs
Util rurban_: Will do this evening, and respond by #parrot IRC.
rurban_ thanks
Chirag rurban: maybe your vacation period might clash with GSoC evaluations? 19:39
rurban_ the midterm?
Chirag yes?
rurban_ lemme check... 19:40
Chirag no.. its from 24-28
rurban_ I'll do it in Orlando. looks good 19:42
Chirag 6.5.0 is scheduled for this saturday? or the next? 19:43
rurban_ I'll leaving HOU at Wed 6/18 one day after the release. and be offline for a few days until YAPC (camping in Boise, Idaho)
6.5.0 is done at Tue 6/17. and the coding deadline is this Saturday 19:44
Util Chirag: Jun 17th (One week from today) ; see docs/project/release_manager_guide.pod
Chirag alright :) 19:45
rurban_ we usually test it for a few days
and get the docs and tests right
I will look once again over all the PMC's (we changed many), the dynpmc's and do a minor squash into ~4 commits: pmc2c, fixes, optimizations and the docs 19:47
or maybe leave it as it is. no strong opinion
Chirag I will continue checking pmcs at my end as well
rurban_ good 19:48
we are correct now, and I guess we can get a bit faster still. maybe up to 5%
we can always do that later, after 6.5.0 also 19:49
think we are done 19:53
Util Any blockers?
rurban_ none
Util Anything else before we adjourn? From anyone? 19:54
OK, then. Meeting adjourned. Thanks! 19:55
rurban_ Forgot to add. The gc MEMORY_DEBUG fixes I did where crucial to find the remaining bugs. we can now sanity check and see all the GC'd PMC's with the current GMS gc 20:02
