kid51 Can't really participate in parrotsketch from $job, so I'm submitting this report early. In past week or so: 12:23
* Applied patches submitted by Seneca Cunningham (RT 57532) and Jason Switzer (RT 57522).
* Handled an old RT originally submitted by Coke about being unable to have command-line options recognized on Darwin; fix committed yesterday (RT 41508).
* While working on development of file-based configuration, realized we'd need to be able to designate multiple config steps as verbose steps. Decided time had come to implement that in trunk as well. To make this happen, certain code in Parrot::Configure had to be simplified, leading to new format for Configure.pl's standard output. Please check out RT 57780. Since this is a highly visible change -- though not a very
deep one -- we need to have any objections voiced ASAP.
* Resumed work on ops-renumbering program ticket (RT 53976).
Please comment in RTs or catch me on #parrot evenings (US EDT) or weekend.

davidfetter hi 18:32
jhorwitz yo
chromatic Low turnout today; my guess is YAPC::EU? 18:33
tewk here
chromatic Let's go in alphabetical order.
I've fixed a couple of crashers, and am looking at a performance regression related to const_string. 18:34
I'm happy to fix other crashers if they get tickets filed and have minimal amounts of PIR which demonstrate them.
(Less happy to fix them if they don't have minimal amounts of PIR.)
In particular, I'll look at the NameSpace segfault and the one Patrick posted.
davidfetter?
davidfetter slacking :( 18:35

chromatic cotto-work, are you here?
japhb?
jhorwitz? 18:37
jhorwitz not much progress on mod_{parrot,perl6} lately, focusing on improving documentation
some mod_perl6 features blocking on complete implementation of namespace interpolation (my patch only works for subs)
AFAICT win32 apache doesn't use apxs. need to figure out the right way to build modules there. will consult the mod_perl2 source.
starting to add more apache data structures (server_rec, conn_rec, etc.), but progress is slow. 18:38

tewk * I've read up on x86_64 calling conventions and am starting to work on jitted x86_64 nci stubs
* Going to cleanup my tools/build/nativecall.pl and commit latest to gsoc_nci_001 tonight

I got jitted i386 to work on WIN32 with MSVC 18:40

pmichaud hi all, just got in
my report is short :-)
(1) vacation, (2) travel, (3) I'm at YAPC::EU, (4) Rakudo is now passing 2200 spectests
I'm glad to be back to hacking again this week :-)
eor
chromatic Alright, let's go to question time. Who's first? 18:45
jhorwitz queues a question for pmichaud
i guess i'm it... 18:46
pmichaud: any progress on interpolated namespaces? mod_perl6 is starting to block on it
pmichaud jhorwitz: my available hacking time basically disappeared once oscon begain :-( 18:47
however, I expect to be able to work on it this weekend
s/begain/began/
jhorwitz excellent. that will help with a great many things.
pmichaud tonight I'm likely to work on precompiled modules for Rakudo and symbol exports
namespaces will be not-far after that
I worked on updating p6object to be HLL-aware while on the plane 18:48
but decided it really needs to go in a branch
anyway, it's high on my list of todo's
jhorwitz IIRC, this would allow mod_perl6 and pipp to play nicely together?
pmichaud it should, yes. 18:49
jhorwitz great!
pmichaud it will at least get the operators into separate namespaces :-)
any other questions? 18:51
jhorwitz has nothing else 18:52
NotFound Someone is troubled by the work in parrot_debugger?
chromatic How so? 18:53
NotFound I assume I can work freely on it, until stabilized. 18:54
chromatic No one spoke up when you asked, so that seems reasonable.
NotFound I'm already doing it, just trying to be nice ;) 18:55
particle try hard to keep it working for the release
otherwise, anything goes with that unstable heap of code
NotFound particle: actually it works better than before I started to work on it. 18:56
Whiteknight is meeting over? 19:13
chromatic Is there anything else? 19:14
(sorry, distracted by multiple windows)
pmichaud I vote to end the meeting
jhorwitz +1
NotFound +1 19:15
chromatic Thanks everyone, talk to you next week! 19:17
