NotFound Late hello
Util Hi, NotFound
cotto I suspect that's not the root problem. Parrot's been quiet over the last couple months, so not a lot of coordination has been needed. 19:38

not_gerd has a question 19:39
cotto not_gerd: go ahead
not_gerd I already aked about it in #parrot - currently, parrot has optional libffi bindings - but NQP actually bundles dyncall 19:40
might be a good idea to make that available to all parrot languages...
^asked
cotto It's a better option from a platform support perspective. 19:41
not_gerd however, I don't know what the policy for including 3rd-party code is - as far as I can see, all of that has been moved out of the repository...
Coke I think there's still a place for bundled stuff. 19:42
Util not_gerd: You do not have to ship something to provide support for it, as long as Parrot also provides introspection for a host language to see whether Parrot was compiled --without-foo. 19:43
NotFound Ideally, we shouldn't care how NCI is provided, just that is available. 19:44
cotto I'd like to see a branch to experiment with dyncall-based nci. 19:45
Util The packagers can take responsibility for bundling certain libraries (and compiling Parrot to use them), or not bundling (and compiling Parrot to not use them).
not_gerd Rakudo does not build without NCI support, so if Parrot does not bundle it, NQP will have to...
cotto which gives us a good use case 19:46
not_gerd: +1 19:48
Util +1 19:49
cotto not_gerd: does that answer your question? 19:50
not_gerd yes, it does... 19:51
cotto ok. any other questions? 19:53
Coke just wanted to give benabik++ a shout out for resurrecting partcl(PIR) 19:55
NotFound And finding a nasty bug while on it. 19:56
