tbrowder [Coke]: i prefer spaces, too, but i took them out for the table in case the resulting line was too long. 00:01
Zoffix dogbert17: sup? Or is the SEGV what you wanted to tell me? 00:01

tbrowder Zoffix: my PR #1339 should close RT #130477 00:06
synopsebot RT#130477 [open]: rt.perl.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=130477 [BUG][POD] Pod config parses colopairs but simply stringifies whatever it matched
wander Merry Christmas #perl6 ! 00:06
yoleaux 16 Dec 2017 06:54Z <Zoffix> wander: do you have an RT account? You committed tests for a ticket ( github.com/perl6/roast/commit/0368...dc95e1d218 ) but nothing's mentioned on the ticket itself and it's still open: rt.perl.org/Ticket/Display.html?id...et-history 00:07
16 Dec 2017 11:29Z <AlexDaniel> wander: by any chance, does that sound relevant? irclog.perlgeek.de/perl6/2017-12-15#i_15583699
tbrowder wander: Joyeaux Noel! 00:08
wander tbrowder: \o 00:12
.tell Zoffix I have no RT account. Thank you for close the ticket. 00:17
yoleaux wander: I'll pass your message to Zoffix.
wander .tell AlexDaniel This time I forgot to send an e-mail to RT system :P 00:18
yoleaux wander: I'll pass your message to AlexDaniel.
llfourn did perl6 ```perl6 markdown github highlighting stop working for everyone or just me? 00:27
yoleaux 7 Dec 2017 03:09Z <thou> llfourn: are you interested in getting your Untwine change merged? there are a few of us who would like to see it done, I'm willing to look at merging & testing if desired. github.com/rakudo/rakudo/pull/651/...2e74df8ceb
timotimo yeah, it recently bugged out 00:28
maybe a month ago
lookatme o/ 00:30
llfourn ok thx 00:35
sunnavy_ sunnavy 00:39
geekosaur you might need to alias /m to /n somehow :p 00:40
AlexDaniel . 01:07
yoleaux 00:18Z <wander> AlexDaniel: This time I forgot to send an e-mail to RT system :P
tbrowder \o lookatme 01:48
[Coke] tbrowder: it's not just a preference, it's an xt/ test 01:51
test could probably be updated, but it seemed low impact to change the pod 01:52
tbrowder ok
tbrowder the table looks fine! 01:55
[Coke] woot
teatime thought he was in #woodworking for a second, was looking for table pics
Zoffix .ask skids Can't figure out... what does "fragged" mean in this commit? github.com/perl6/roast/commit/65ed...f1b3a019f4 02:58
yoleaux Zoffix: I'll pass your message to skids.
00:17Z <wander> Zoffix: I have no RT account. Thank you for close the ticket.
Zoffix skids: sent you a bot message (in case you're looking at chat logs; since log bot was AFK when I sent it) 02:59
wander I've just read perl6advent.wordpress.com/2017/12/...-approach/ 05:56
"But I don’t like things that grow too much and will have many changes; that’s why I like scripts, for its native procedural approach, because it promote simplicity and effectiveness quickly. I like small (step by step) things that do great things quickly."
wander quite satisfy me :-) 05:57
I failed to know who "ramiroencinas" is, so just express gratitude here. It brightens my day. 06:00
bioexpress Hello, are there rules when not to use object variables (attributes) - is it OK to use object variables to avoid passing around parameter across methods? 07:29
Zoffix bioexpress: no, no real rules and yes, it's OK. 07:38
Geth doc: ac31bd4b80 | (Zoffix Znet)++ (committed using GitHub Web editor) | doc/Type/Signature.pod6
Improve Callable signature unpack docs

  - Get rid of all "reference"s
  - Block and Sub doesn't cover all routines; use Callable type instead
  - s/argument/parameter/
  - Explain whitespace isn't allowed
  - Indicate the shorthand only works with `&` sigils and show the long version
that can be used with other sigils
07:49
synopsebot Link: doc.perl6.org/type/Signature
teatime Zoffix: https works for anyone for pull from public repo, git will only work if they have ssh keys setup with github. but most people who push prefer git: URL so they can use ssh keys instead of giving their github username and password every time for https 08:33
bioexpress_ Zoffix: thx! 09:55
Zoffix Any idea what a "subrule" with subtype of "capture" is in regexes? There's a bug in this conditional; trying to come up with code that covers it: github.com/perl6/nqp/blob/master/s...s.nqp#L415 10:46
can't hit it. Screw it. Might be just copy-pasta from P6 regexes and ain't even triggerable in P5 11:02
moritz would guess (...), but that's only a guess 12:45
SmokeMachine m: say is-prime(2.5); say 2.5.is-prime 13:54
camelia False
True
lizmat SmokeMachine: yeah, just realized that 13:56
working on it
SmokeMachine lizmat: thanks! I just answered the thread... 13:57
Summertime does anyone have a repository for Advent of Code 2017 answers? I wanna compare my answers against something so I know I'm getting the "right" answers 14:42
Guest49524 github.com/ploeh/advent-of-code-2017 14:44
github.com/topics/advent-of-code-2017 14:45
github.com/topics/advent-of-code-2017?l=perl-6 14:47
Summertime ah! shoulda just done that yeah, thank you!
Guest49524 there's only one for P6, but there're two for P5 14:48
github.com/topics/advent-of-code-2017?l=perl
Summertime there we go, now there is another perl 6 AoC repo ^^ 15:12
titsuki_ I added my codes for AoC :) 15:14
Summertime ah thanks! 15:17

FROGGS o/ 17:03
yoleaux 11 Sep 2017 02:28Z <Xliff> FROGGS: I have a few questions about XML::LibXML if you have some time. Particularly about t/02parse.t
lizmat FROGGS o/ # long time no see! 17:11
FROGGS hi lizmat 17:11
lizmat good to see you again :-) 17:12
FROGGS yeah, nice to be here :o) 17:12
lizmat it's only been 2 years... :-)
FROGGS I'm just reading the changelog an advent calendar posts.. trying to catch up a bit 17:13
yeah :/
sadly
lizmat hopes the other stuff FROGGS was busy with had a lot of enjoyment as well 17:14
FROGGS yes, the $work project was and is a lot of fun
lizmat and the home project ? :-)
FROGGS now there is a little break, where the management is forced to finally make a decision
ohh, the three stooges? 17:15
they're fine :o)
lizmat hehe... good to hear :-)
FROGGS lots of stuff to unwrap today
lizmat cool! 17:16
lizmat did most of her unwrapping last night
buggable New CPAN upload: PDF-Font-Loader-0.1.7.tar.gz by WARRINGD cpan.metacpan.org/authors/id/W/WA/...1.7.tar.gz 17:18
FROGGS we did almost the entire wrapping last night ;o)
took quite a while, the kids just got too much this year 17:19
lizmat I can picture the melee :-)
FROGGS hmmm, jnthn++'s Cro looks quite promising (pun intended)... maybe I should try to port one of my Mojo apps to Cro? 17:45

rightfold m: sub foo { goto x; x: say 1 }; foo 20:28
camelia 5===SORRY!5=== Error while compiling <tmp>
Variable '&x' is not declared
at <tmp>:1
------> 3sub foo { goto 7⏏5x; x: say 1 }; foo
mspo I had a weird thought the other day 20:29
I think perl6 might be a good language for writing a shell
Zoffix rightfold: we don't have goto 20:34
m: x: goto x
camelia Label.goto() not yet implemented. Sorry.
in block <unit> at <tmp> line 1
Zoffix m: sub foo { "goto x".EVAL; x: say 1 }; foo 20:35
camelia Label.goto() not yet implemented. Sorry.
in block <unit> at EVAL_0 line 1
in sub foo at <tmp> line 1
in block <unit> at <tmp> line 1
Zoffix It doesn't see a post-declared label in the original code; but I guess making that work right would be part of implementing goto :) 20:36
rightfold Zoffix: :( 20:41
gfldex m: say (-∞..∞).pick(5) 21:09
camelia (Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil)
Zoffix stashes that one into private collection 21:12
Got a bunch of other ones with ranges there: gist.github.com/zoffixznet/bddafd9...04ddf22889
gfldex I tend to forget that Perl 6 is in fact not a mathematician but a mere calculator. 21:14
It is (at times) a magician tho.
timotimo if you pick a number from -inf to inf you're almost guaranteed to get one that you can't store on all hard drives on the entire planet earth 22:52
tadzik :) 22:53
Zoffix m: say (1..∞).pick(5) # or you'll die trying 23:10
camelia (Nil Nil Nil Nil Nil)
Zoffix huh
Locally that hangs
Zoffix Ah, I typed `perl6 - 'say…` instead of `perl6 -e 'say…` 23:11
Zoffix m: say (NaN..NaN).pick(5) # this hangs tho :P 23:12
camelia (timeout)
lizmat please make these an issue 23:40
