colomon ultra-quick-report: $work has eaten my brain and crushed my spirit. but I'm playing hooky today and working on eliminating the TrigTestSupport module from t/spec/packages, as 3/4s of it was obsolete cruft anyway. EOR 17:43
masak colomon++ 17:49
PerlJam colomon++ (sorry to hear about your brain and spirit, we'll try to find new ones for you :) 17:59
masak or build new ones. we're good at building things. :)
Util [Pre-report] 18:38
# Done:
* Advised kthakore++ on his plan for SDL on Perl 6; was added to the project's GitHub team.
* Reviewed implementations of Complex numbers in Rakudo and Niecza; possible improvements spotted.
= Done because I happened to work on Complex inverse hyperbolic trig functions in Parrot this week.
# Plan to do:
* Win32 work on Parrot.
* Take over RosettaCode draft task: Straddling checkerboard
# Blockers:
* Massive $WORK.

masak shall we begin? any more reports? 19:04
jnthn Well, unreport :)
I went on vacation.
Didn't do nom hacking, 'cus I didn't even take a laptop :)
masak o.O 19:05
jnthn I did read The art of the metaobject protocol though.
masak was it good?

jnthn Had read chunks of it before, but was nice to read it "in full" 19:05
It was interesting, especially given last time I read chunks of it was when I was planning 6model.
I found it pretty light reading, though I expect that's...not a common experience. :) 19:06
The section on bootstrapping was very ad-hoc...I'd hoped for more ideas.
I did very much like the notion of method combinators that CLOS has though. 19:07
[Coke] helped out moritz with the feature doc, and tried to make a script to update the error messages in the spectest file. Not quite done on that.
jnthn We don't have such a thing in Perl 6, but they'd perhaps give us a way to deal with those "how does a role provide a BUILD for just its attributes".
Anyway, I'm back, I have time for nom hacking, and I'll be doing some. :)
masak \\o/ 19:08
jnthn And yes, will be around for the weekend module hackin'
colomon This is one of two weekends until September when I will not be extremely busy / gone outright. So I may sneak in some module hacking as well. As long as I'm not on the run from the law for having killed one of my $work customers... 19:09
masak you killed him!? o.O 19:11
colomon masak: I haven't yet. But I make no promises about by this weekend. 19:12
masak gives colomon a preemptive hug
that's all reports? anyone have any questions? 19:16
or anything else to bring up?
tadzik report: a good bit of vacationing (masak++!), laptop is any<broken working>, depending on its mood, notmuch work done
plans: .WHY, catching up 19:17
masak tadzik++ # excellent guide through the Polish rainforests :)
jnthn Did you [see|eat] any beese? 19:18
masak we drank a few :P
jnthn No, no, I meant the...oh, orka. :P 19:19

jnthn :P 19:20
masak that seems to be it for today. 19:24
thanks, everone. keep up the good work!
jnthn
.oO( going on vacation is considered good work? Gee...I should just do that all the time :) )

sorear o/ 19:31
DID: released niecza v8 at 3am. this was a mistake :/ 19:32
EOR
masak sorear: why was it a mistake? 19:35
sorear masak: I woke up to three people complaining of build problems
masak :/ 19:38
colomon sorear: that's a good sign of how many people are using your software. usually when I release my $work software, it's at least a day before someone reports a build bug... 19:56
TimToady good reason not to release on friday :) 20:42
