weekly Perl 6 status meetings with phase transitions: Wed 17:30 UTC | IR clogs at irclog.perlgeek.de/phasers/today
Set by moderator on 10 November 2011.
tadzik pre-report, will probably attend only a small amount of the actual #phasers: 16:41
– Released London
- added some fixes to Rakudo necessary for Panda 16:42
- fixed Panda for nom
- wrote a panda implementation for massive testing of modules, gist.github.com/1379175 16:43
- results in gist.github.com/1379484 and on the wiki page: github.com/perl6/ecosystem/wiki/St...les-on-nom
- created a wiki page for Google Code-In: github.com/perl6/ecosystem/wiki/Google-Code-In I'd like to discuss it a bit more, few people are interested and I think it's a nice opportunity to get some fresh flesh and some slav^Wvolunteers to work on things like docs, tests, modules etc 16:45

sorear DID: nada, been busy. 16:59
WILL DO: lots of S05 stuff to regain my lead on nqp ;)
EOR
moritz did: travel to Norway and back again. Nothing Perl 6 related, except for one or two commits over ssh :-) 17:01
Util tadzik++ # State-of-modules-on-nom 17:17
Pre-report: No progress; blocked by $WORK and holiday chaos.
Will be worse for next 2 weeks, but will work on 5-to-6 translator if possible.

...that's not what my $dayjob said. 17:31
(It's fine. :-)) 17:32
moritz jnthn++ 17:34
sorear so, isn't the meeting supposed to start in -4?
sorear wonders where our mäsak is
moritz so, any more reports?
or questions?
I have one topic I'd like to discuss...
news.perlfoundation.org/2011/11/hag...lperl.html 17:35
we should comment on that
somebody should write about the underlying changes that nom brought, and that "making it work on nom" is probably much more than just a bug fix
any volunteers? or should I do it? 17:36
sorear pl/perl6 is a Parrot thing more than a Rakudo thing
jnthn sorear: He may not make it today...
sorear jnthn: you know why?
moritz sorear: well, I'm not sure if that's true anymore when interfacing Rakudo 17:37
sorear s/^/... sounds like /
jnthn sorear: Just guessing based on what I know of $dayjob-schedule :)
tadzik I'd like to talk about GCI 17:38
moritz I take the lack of volunteers as an indication that I should do it :-) 17:39
tadzik: do talk :-)
jnthn moritz: I'm just reading it properly now...
moritz I plan to come up with some ideas in the next two days
tadzik who wants to get involved? :) I don't want to be the only mentor, those students are quite active :P
moritz: you seen the wiki page?
moritz I'll be mentoring too
tadzik: no. Where is it?
tadzik moritz: github.com/perl6/ecosystem/wiki/Google-Code-In 17:40
Util jnthn: where do dyncall and "new native call support" live? (as in Repo location) 17:41
jnthn moritz: Yeah, agree with your assessment
Util: nci branch of the nqp repo.
Util jnthn: thx 17:42
jnthn Util: Tonight or (more likely) tomorrow I'll also start to update the NativeCall.pm.
Where "update" means "start over"
That lives in a repo on github.
moritz in the nqp repo, iirc
branch master 17:43
jnthn moritz: No, not that
:)
github.com/jnthn/zavolaj # here
Util zavolaj?
sorear moritz: I'm not volunteering because of very little knowledge of {Parrot,PgSQL}
moritz sorear: ok
jnthn Util: See readme :)
Though the latest work should render some of the bad bits of the readme untrue :) 17:44
tadzik moritz: re GCI, I'd like to start adding tasks this weekend
moritz: if you have any more ideas please add them to the wiki
sorear is doing prep work for the Monday release now 17:45
Util I hope to mentor in the next GSOC, but I cannot block off time for this year's GCI. :(
will look at wiki, though
moritz tadzik: who manages GCI on the TPF part? 17:46
tadzik moritz: rafl and pj iirc
moritz phases out 17:58
19:17 Util joined 20:07 tadzik joined
