[01:04] <wayland> timo: Yes, I realise you can do that with proto, but I don't think that makes "nextsame" work. Or are there exceptions I could handle in the proto that'd make it work?

[13:34] <disbot4> <librasteve> wayland: yes - you said to look at the intro to https://rockylinux.org/news/2026-06-08-get-involved-where-rocky-linux-needs-you - I said "can we condense something like that to a panel for the raku.org website", you said "I have written (but not published) a whole website for that" lol

[13:35] <disbot4> <librasteve> like ships in the night

[13:58] <disbot4> <antononcube> @librasteve I spent a few hours yesterday streamlining "LLM::Functions", "WWW::OpenAI", "WWW::Gemini", and "WWW::Ollama" to use env variables for the the corresponding default LLMs. For each "WWW::*" package there might be a better solution for disabled and obsoleted models, but the providers are fairly non-uniform API-wise, in the model-querying regard.

[13:59] <disbot4> <librasteve> @antononcube brilliant - thanks for the update

[14:02] <disbot4> <antononcube> Having and utilizing env variables like GEMINI_DEFAULT_MODEL is both a good and simple solution. But, well, not a very good one.

[21:51] <wayland76> librasteve_: Most of my conversations are like ships in the night, because I'm in APAC-type timezones (Australia). The Github repo is at https://github.com/wayland/raku-involvement-website . lizmat has fixed a raku bug that's blocking the website from compiling, so all I have to do is install from main, and then see if it works :) .

[22:04] <librasteve_> ooh good … I look forward to it … perhaps a panel on raku.org and then a link over to your site?

[22:05] <librasteve_> anyway I’ll be in Adelaide / Port Douglas for next 4 weeks :-)
