| moritz | iBakeCake: I've added your SSH key | 08:33 | |
| iBakeCake: and fwiw I also don't think we should introduce the topics in the order discussed in the outline | 08:39 | ||
| iBakeCake: rather we should start with a basic example, and explain the things used in the example | |||
| and then go to a slightly more advanced example, and explain all the stuff needed for that, and so on | 08:40 | ||
| IME, coming up with good examples is the real challenge | 08:46 | ||
| ideally they do somthing useful, are rather compact, and don't introduce too many new concepts | 08:47 | ||
| ... and all without interacting too much with the outside world, because that tends to be a bit non-deterministic, which makes it hard for the reader to follow | 08:48 | ||
| so, any ideas for examples are very welcome | 08:53 | ||

| Zoffix | Sorry for doing this after offering to be a co-editor (and making you add keys), but I'm pulling out. I think it's best to do it now, than half-way in the middle of the project. As I've said before, I was thinking of a book even earlier than your announcement. Yesterday, I wrote down a detailed plan for what I envison that book to be and I feel strongly about the content structure and the creative direction. I've decided that my staying on and | 11:43 | |
| bikeshedding this and trying to convince people why I want it my way would be wasted effort and I'm best to do my book on my own. Sorry for wasting your time; please revoke my keys. Best of luck in your endeavour. | |||

| moritz | DrForr: are you looking for a co-author for Learning Perl 6? :-) | 12:54 | |
| I don't fancy writing a book alone right now | |||
| DrForr | I don't blame you. Privmsg? (already pinged you) | 14:13 | |
