timo you know, we can instrument a lot more than just "every time the line number changes" 19:55
like, reprops like attribute access, push/pop/shift/unshift, {at,bind}{pos, key}, etc etc 19:56
japhb As long as we don't slow those down when *not* debugging. At that granularity, the debug overhead could get somewhat brutal. 21:29
(But if you can make that work, that'd be awesome.)
timo that's the point of instrumentation, we add extra stuff to the bytecode when we instrument, and we just don't do that if we're not 21:37
profiler, line coverage, edge coverage & fuzzing feedback, as well as the breakpoints for the debugger use the instrumentation feature 21:38
japhb Sure ... just wanted to make sure your new realization didn't change that. :-) 21:51
Sounds like you just realized there are more ways to apply the same technique 21:52
