xinming Hi, I always get confused about .hyper/.race, which one ensures order of results, the other doesn't, Any hints on how I can remember this? Thx 14:37
I've looked-up the raku doc over and over again :-(
dakkar xinming: in a `.race`, you never know who's goinig to arrive first 14:38
14:38 ufobat__ joined
dakkar xinming: does that help? 14:40
xinming dakkar: got it, thx 14:42
this helped a lot.
dakkar maybe docs.raku.org/type/Iterable#method_race should say that…

xinming It's quite a bit like in school, I always get confused with am/pm before, But teacher told us remember that letter a is before p, so we'll know which is mornining. :-) 14:43
dakkar I think it's one of those things that are "obvious" to (near) native English speaker
xinming: and the am/pm is clearer to Latin speakers 😜 14:44
(am
(am → ante meridiem → before mid-day; pm → post meridiem → after mid-day)
xinming Ok, I just get curious about what am/pm mean in google, and your answer showed. 14:45
google's AI is amazing. :-)

suman lizmat Got it. Thanks 15:47
lizmat you don't need to coerce to Sets to get Set semantics :-)
you *will* get a Set as the result (unless the set op returns a Bool, such as (elem))

cnx hi all, what do you think of hosting the upcoming raku conf on a more libre platform like bigbluebutton or jitsi instead of zoom? 16:06
is there any technical hindrence to preferring zoom, e.g. sponsorship or it was just not thought after? 16:07
