Voldenet junctions are great, but also aren't magic 12:27
disbot <antononcube> @lizmat Do you want to see those links here or not? (I can definitely restrain myself sharing them.)
Voldenet junctions are pretty good at what they were made to do and pretty bad at what they weren't made to do 12:32
12:35 Guest303 joined
lizmat antononcube no, please do post them here 12:35
Voldenet things like: `valid-ratio(any(10, 75, 4), all(2, 6, 7, 11))` sound very dubious though, I wouldn't know how this would work 12:36
Guest303 The point is exactly that they aren't really good at it

Guest303 Anyway, if 2 or 3 people paid proper attention, then there would be no need to the ad-hominem. I know it's hard to escape this line of thinking. 12:36

lizmat ignores an attempt at interaction
Voldenet this is what is the primary goal for junctions
imo

Voldenet I tend to avoid passing junctions as arguments to blocks though, it feels icky that `sub(Junction $x)` gets called differently than sub($x)` 12:46

ugexe yeah its not a great situation. they make optimizations difficult/impossible in many situations so you should avoid them for code you want to be fast. and how they work for non-trivial examples often isn't intuitive to someone reading the code. 14:37
junctions and allomorphs would probably be two of the first things i'd redesign/reconsider for similar reasons 14:41
